Diriyah Gate and Sehhaty App Launch Walkathon Challenge to Reach 50,000 Steps

Next Friday, April 23, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and represented by the "Sehhaty" app, will launch the Walkathon Challenge to encourage participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle and exercise during the holy month of Ramadan.

Interested participants can register for the Walkathon through the following link: https://dgda.gov.sa/Pages/Walkathon.aspx. The event will begin on Friday, April 23, and end on Sunday, April 25, to ensure maximum participation over the weekend.

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority stated that the challenge for participants is to reach 50,000 steps over the three days. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners of the Walkathon Challenge in partnership with the "Jahez" app and healthy meal restaurants.

The authority emphasized that the Walkathon aims to raise awareness about the importance of walking as one of the most accessible sports that can be practiced by almost all age groups and genders without obstacles. Walking is a light exercise that can be easily performed during Ramadan.

Diriyah Gate praised the collaboration with the "Sehhaty" app and the benefits it offers its users by encouraging them to adopt walking as part of their routine, among other health benefits promoted by the app.

It is worth noting that the Diriyah Gate Development Authority incorporates modern systems and urban living designs in its development projects, including tree-lined walking paths and open spaces for community gatherings. These initiatives aim to promote a healthy lifestyle by providing sports facilities and beautiful natural landscapes. The authority has hosted many global sports championships and races, the latest being Formula E, which was powered entirely by renewable and clean energy, reflecting the authority's commitment to supporting environmental standards and urban living within historic Diriyah.
