DGDA Concludes Its Participation in the “You Are the Sports Project” Campaign

Diriyah Gate Development Authority has concluded its participation in the “You Are the Sports Project” campaign, launched by the Ministry of Sport. The Authority hosted the campaign’s first stop in the historic Samhan District from October 1st to the 7th, 2026, attracting a strong turnout of Diriyah residents and visitors.

The activations were held in partnership with the Ministry of Sport, with the participation of the Saudi Sports for All Federation and Diriyah Club. The interactive experience offered visitors the opportunity to engage in a variety of sports and physical activities in a setting that combined the energy of sport with Diriyah’s heritage identity, highlighting the role of historic sites in hosting contemporary events that connect with community life.

The campaign featured a diverse range of sporting activities and experiences. The Ministry of Sport’s main pavilion included a fully equipped mini fitness center with certified trainers, alongside a series of sporting challenges and experiences organized in collaboration with several sports federations and organizations, including chess, hockey, tennis, and boxing. Additional activations by the Saudi Sports for All Federation included mini golf, football shooting challenges, and giveaways for visitors.

Diriyah Club also participated through a dedicated activation, offering complimentary club merchandise to visitors, further enriching the visitor experience and encouraging engagement with the event.

On the final day of the campaign, the Gulf Cup 27 final was broadcasted live, allowing visitors to enjoy the match in an engaging sporting and social atmosphere, culminating in the Saudi national team’s victory and its crowning as Gulf champion.

DGDA’s participation reflects its support for the national campaign’s objectives of promoting sport as a sustainable way of life and reinforcing the role of individuals as the driving force behind the Kingdom’s national sports development.

The activations also demonstrated the strong collaboration between DGDA and sports organizations in making physical activity more accessible to the community and enhancing quality of life.

Hosting the campaign in the historic Samhan District further reflected DGDA’s commitment to creating experiences that integrate Diriyah’s heritage and historical significance into everyday life. The event brought together the exploration of a historic destination and active community engagement, strengthening the connection between sport and national identity.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Sport launched the “You Are the Sports Project” campaign in conjunction with Saudi National Day to encourage community members to invest in their health and sporting future, in support of the sports-related objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
