DGDA and Samhaniya Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Cultural Cooperation

Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and Samhaniya Company, a firm specializing in the management and operation of cultural destinations, signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation on joint plans and projects that embody the cultural, historical, and heritage values of Diriyah, serving beneficiaries across various fields related to Diriyah’s cultural and heritage identity.

The MoU includes cooperation in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, including engaging local entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and supporting partnerships with local companies in the hospitality and crafts sectors, with the aim of enhancing community participation and stimulating the local economy. The MoU also seeks to preserve historical sites and buildings and to promote the adaptive reuse of heritage and modern buildings in a manner consistent with the authenticity of the architectural style, cultural significance, and principles of environmental sustainability.

In addition, the MoU aims to organize public programs and events that enhance the presence of arts and culture, including exhibitions, community workshops, and showcases of crafts and traditional practices. It also seeks to develop public art and creative expression projects that reflect Diriyah’s cultural identity, while supporting local artists and creatives through artist residency programs, mentorship, and creative development platforms.

Both parties affirmed that this MoU represents a strategic step toward strengthening cultural cooperation, supporting the local economy, and deepening engagement with the community through sustainable projects and initiatives that highlight Diriyah’s rich cultural identity. This partnership also aims to further engage target audiences by organizing specialized arts and culture events and activities. This collaboration comes within a comprehensive vision to enhance the role of arts and culture in social and economic development, reflecting the parties’ commitment to supporting sustainable projects that combine authenticity and innovation and contribute to showcasing Diriyah’s cultural landmarks at both the local and international levels.
