Diriyah Gate Development Authority and MBC Group Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Cultural Content

Diriyah, 29 January 2026 — The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and MBC Group have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two entities in the fields of media and cultural content. The agreement seeks to highlight the historical and cultural heritage of Diriyah and reinforce its position as a leading cultural and tourism destination at both the local and international levels.
The MoU was signed by Abdullah Alghanim, representative of Diriyah Gate Development Authority, and Samar Akrouk, Group Director of Productions at MBC Group and MBC Studios. The agreement focuses on aligning efforts to develop and produce high-quality media content that reflects the Kingdom’s national identity and showcases the rich historical and cultural legacy of Diriyah.
The memorandum includes cooperation on the production of high-impact media content, such as documentaries, visual programs, and digital content. It also covers joint efforts in marketing and distributing these productions across multiple platforms, to reach local, regional, and international audiences, and strengthening Diriyah’s presence as a prominent cultural and historical site.
In addition to that, the partnership will also support media coverage of cultural events and activities held in Diriyah, reinforcing its status as a vibrant cultural destination that blends authenticity with contemporary experiences. The collaboration also includes knowledge exchange and capacity-building initiatives focused on developing skills in content creation and media production, supporting national talent, and strengthening professional capabilities across the media and creative sectors.
Both parties emphasized that this memorandum aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in advancing the cultural and creative sectors, developing the local content industry, enhancing media competitiveness, and showcasing historical and heritage sites through modern and innovative approaches.
The two sides also noted that the MoU represents a strategic step toward strengthening integration between the media and cultural sectors and opening new horizons for future cooperation, delivering rich media and cultural experiences that reflect the Kingdom’s history and cultural values, and firmly establishing Diriyah’s presence as a global cultural hub.
