Diriyah Gate Development Authority and Education & Training Evaluation Commission Sign MoU to Enhance Cooperation in Education and Training

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation on joint plans and projects, serving beneficiaries across various fields related to education and training.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission by His Excellency Dr. Waleed bin Mohammed Al-Saleh, President of the Commission, and on behalf of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority by Dr. Asmaa Siddiqi, Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer.

Through this MoU, both parties seek to achieve cooperation and coordination in line with their respective mandates, including strategic alignment that supports national objectives related to the quality of education and training. The agreement also covers collaboration in training and knowledge transfer through programs developed by both entities.

The MoU further aims to organize activities, events, scientific seminars, dialogue forums, and meetings on topics of mutual interest, as well as cooperation in conducting studies and providing consultancy services within each party’s scope of work. Given the intersection between the cultural activities and programs of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority and the education sector, areas of cooperation include - by way of example - the accreditation of education and training facilities and programs under DGDA’s supervision, the provision of assessment, evaluation, and accreditation services carried out by ETEC, and the provision of support and knowledge transfer in developing specialized standards for education and training facilities and programs in Diriyah, in accordance with each party’s mandate.

This MoU comes as part of efforts to strengthen Diriyah’s position in the field of education, as one of the Kingdom’s most prominent historical sites and its birthplace. The Authority seeks to highlight Diriyah’s roots and history in terms of urban development, culture, and knowledge, and to position Diriyah as a destination historically associated with education. This will be achieved through coordinated efforts among national entities, supporting the Authority’s objectives and development plans, activating its contribution to cultural and economic development, and enhancing the governance of government operations.

The Education and Training Evaluation Commission is the national reference for evaluation, measurement, and accreditation in education and training in the Kingdom. It aims to enhance the quality of education and training and their contribution to the economy and national development. Its mandates include evaluating and accrediting schools and education and training institutions, developing and administering educational assessments and tests, issuing professional licenses in education, and other related responsibilities.
