The Diriyah Gate Development Authority launched the Diriyah Global Seminar yesterday, with participation from leading researchers and specialists in the history of the Arabian Peninsula, world history, and environmental studies.

The seminar aims to support academic research on Diriyah and the Arabian Peninsula, explore the region's deep history and Saudi heritage, and highlight the global significance of oases.

The opening included a speech by Al-Ahsa Governor and Development Authority CEO Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, who stressed the profound role of nature in shaping human identity, noting the connection between Diriyah, Wadi Hanifah, and the Al-Ahsa Oasis.

The two-day event features lectures, dialogue sessions, and workshops exploring oases comprehensively—from geographical origins to intangible culture. Topics include the environment as an engine for sustainable development, the social role of tribes in oasis civilization, modern technologies in heritage preservation, and water management in the Kingdom.
