Diriyah Gate Development Authority Inaugurates Al Maydan Park in Al Khalidiyah District
13 December 2025
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Abdullah bin Turki, Governor of Diriyah, the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) inaugurated Al Maydan Park in Al Khalidiyah District, featuring a new community center designed to serve Diriyah residents through a diverse range of activities and services.
Covering an area of 14,000 square meters, Al Maydan Park has been designed in line with the Wadi Hanifah Urban Code, reflecting an initiative to unify the area's architectural identity and implement the code's standards across public spaces. The project contributes to creating a cohesive and harmonious urban fabric within the supervisory area surrounding Diriyah Gate.
The park includes a mosque, a multi-purpose community center, and a range of supporting public amenities and services.
The community center has been designed to accommodate a variety of events and activities, offering facilities such as a library, café, social gathering spaces, co-working areas, and a dedicated children's hospitality and activity zone.
Inspired by the spirit of Diriyah and its enduring values of community, cultural pride, and a close connection with nature, Al Maydan Park is intended to host a broad spectrum of recreational, cultural, social, and sporting events. It also provides a platform for creatives across different fields to pursue their interests and share knowledge, reinforcing the role of public parks as vibrant community hubs that strengthen social cohesion and encourage active participation through community initiatives and volunteer programs.
The park features expansive landscaped green spaces, children's recreational facilities, sports courts, and dedicated walking and jogging tracks, creating a dynamic public environment that promotes wellbeing and strengthens connections among community members.
The initiative reflects DGDA's commitment to advancing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing quality of life, expanding green spaces, and fostering greater community engagement.
These landmark additions further reinforce Diriyah's status as a leading historical and cultural destination while strengthening the city's community infrastructure through the delivery of sustainable, high-quality development projects as part of DGDA's ongoing transformation program.
